Brick Staining

Does anyone know about brick staining?
I'm building a house and the brick on the front is lighter than the color I chose (although they claim it's still in spec). The builder is offering to stain it. Is it true that you can't tell it's not the original brick? I was told not to let them paint it, but I'm told this is different. Anything I should watch for in the lifetime warrantee?

I have 50 yr old house. Paint was on windows and dormers and pigment ran onto brick staining it white. How do I clean this?

Does anyone know where to get brick stain?
Does anyone know where I can get stain for my brick house? I don't believe concrete stain will work. I would need it to be from some place I could just order it from, not where they come and do it for you. Thanks!
